What are Huddles?

Huddles are small, expertly moderated, confidential Zoom conversations where B2B CMOs come together to share challenges, ideas, and solutions. Think of them as your monthly marketing brain trust.

What types of Huddles are available (and when)?
  • Peer Huddles: Monthly discussions with a consistent group (3x/month)
  • Career Huddles: Sessions with inspiring authors and experts (1x/month)
  • Bonus Huddles: Expert-led sessions on tactical topics (1-2x/month)

Access depends on your membership level.

How much time do I need to commit each month?

It's up to you. The more Huddles you attend, the more 1:1s you have, the more you post on Slack, the more value you will derive. Most Huddlers attend one Huddle per month and rely on the recaps to keep them up-to-date. Others tap into "Coach Drew" for quarterly sessions. Others rely on the recordings of Bonus and Career Huddles, listening to them at 1.3x speed! We know your time is precious, so we will do anything we can do to help you perform at your best.

Are Huddles recorded if I can't attend live?

Bonus Huddles and Career Huddles are recorded and available on demand. Peer Huddles are not recorded in order to maintain confidentiality and trust BUT you can catch the key takeaways in recaps. Our full directory of recaps is available to Leader members.

Who leads or moderates the Huddles?

Most Huddles are facilitated by our Penguin-in-chief Drew Neisser, a seasoned CMO advisor, agency founder, and author of Renegade Marketing: 12 Steps to Building Unbeatable B2B Brands. Having interviewed 600+ CMOs and moderated 400+ CMO discussions, he is the master at ensuring every Huddle delivers real-world insights you can apply immediately.

We also occasionally have Huddlers serve as guest moderators throughout the year.

How are topics selected for Huddles?

Topics are based on real-time member needs and trends we're seeing across the community.

Are there in-person Huddles or events?

Yes! We host in-person lunches and meetups in select cities throughout the year—no slides, no sales pitches, just great conversation with fellow CMOs.

What is the Super Huddle, and how is it different from regular Huddles?

The Super Huddle is our once-a-year, in-person event for 101 B2B marketing leaders. It features keynotes, panels, peer discussions, and plenty of time to connect in real life. It's invite-only and deeply curated—think of it as Huddles on steroids (in a good way).

How does the Huddles concierge work?

What kind of support can I ask for?

Can I get connected to a vetted vendor or fellow CMO?

Absolutely. We maintain a trusted list of vendor partners and are always happy to make warm intros to CMOs who've solved similar problems. Just tell us what you need—we'll take it from there.

How do I schedule coaching with Drew Neisser?

Leader members can book a 1:1 with Drew anytime. Just drop a note in Slack or email the team—we'll find a time that works. If you're in Starter and interested in trying out a session, email support@cmohuddles.com.

How active is the Slack community?

It's moderately active and highly useful. You won't get overwhelmed, but when you post a question, people show up to help. Our team also monitors channels to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Do you offer anything for CMOs in between roles?

Yes—we have a dedicated Transition Team to support CMOs who are between roles. You'll get a free trial to experience the community, then the option to continue with monthly or quarterly access.

Leader members who've been with us for a while often receive extended access at no cost. Wherever you are on your journey, we're here to help you stay connected, stay sharp, and land your next great opportunity.

Our Starter tier is free and a great way to experience the community before committing.

If you're ready for full access, the Leader membership is $395/month—or $3,950/year when you pay annually (save two months!). Most members on the Leader plan opt for the annual option to maximize value.

Do companies typically cover the cost of membership?

About 90% of Huddlers get their companies to cover the membership fee either as professional development or consulting. The consulting value is real – all you need is one great 1:1 with another CMO to save you thousands or discover a new way to help you increase revenue.

We have noticed that a growing number of Huddlers are paying for their own membership because of the consistent value and support it provides. In fact, an annual Leader membership often costs less than attending a single conference—and provides year-round support, community, and impact.

How much time should I expect to commit each month?

Most members attend 1–2 live Huddles a month. Everything else—replays, concierge help, Slack—can be used when it fits your schedule. You get out what you put in, but even a little engagement goes a long way.

Do you offer any discounts or scholarships?

Not typically, but we occasionally offer a free trial period or a few months free—usually through special circumstances. If cost is a concern, reach out, and we'll see what's possible.

Who qualifies to join?

Senior B2B marketing leaders (VP and above) at companies with 50+ employees (500+ international).

What's the application process like?

Head to our Join Us page to apply. The form takes just a few minutes to complete and helps us get a better picture of your role, your goals and challenges, and whether you're a good fit for our peer-powered community. We typically review applications within 24 hours.

Do you support CMOs between roles?

Yes! We have a dedicated Transition Team to help CMOs who are in between roles stay sharp, supported, and visible. You'll start with a free trial, then have access to flexible monthly or quarterly options. And if you've been a Leader member, we'll often extend access at no cost while you're in transition.

What happens after I apply?

If you're approved, you'll receive a welcome email with the next steps, including a link to set up a short call where we'll explore your goals and the best way to start engaging.

If it's not the right fit at this time, we'll let you know and keep you on our radar for future opportunities.

How can I refer another CMO or marketing leader?

Are international CMOs welcome?

Yes, though the majority of our members are based in North America. Most Huddles programming is held in U.S. time zones, so we recommend international applicants be mindful of that. For global CMOs at companies with 500+ employees, we're happy to review your application and do our best to find a fit.

Are vendors or agencies allowed to join?

Generally, no—we're a pitch-free zone for in-house marketing leaders. We do have a separate Partner Program for vendors recommended to us by the community.

Do you have membership options for up-and-coming marketing leaders?

Not at this time. CMO Huddles is focused on serving full-time marketing leaders in the top seat (CMO, Head of Marketing, or equivalent).

Community Culture

How do you foster trust and confidentiality?

We keep Huddles small, consistent, and pitch-free so members can speak freely. Everyone agrees to a shared code of conduct and to follow Chatham House Rule. While Huddlers are encouraged to leverage the insights they gain from Huddles, they are not allowed to attribute the source of the insight to any individual or company.

What's the vibe of the community?

Supportive, smart, and refreshingly ego-free. Our members show up to share, not show off. Think: generous advice, honest conversations, and a whole lot of "I've been there."

Is this more tactical or strategic?

Both. Some Huddles get deep into org charts and tech stacks, while others tackle big-picture topics like CMO-CEO alignment, brand strategy, or leading through change. The throughline? It's always grounded in real-world experience from real B2B marketing leaders.

Can I meet members before I join?

Yes—Starter members get access to our Slack community, one Peer Huddle or Peer Match, and all Bonus Huddles. It's a great way to get a feel for the people and the value before committing to Leader.

What's expected of members?

Show up when you can, share openly, and help others when you're able. There's no pressure to attend everything, but the more you engage, the more you'll get out of it. It's a give-to-get culture, and it works because members make it work.
